Pools Rummy

Pool Rummy is one of the most popular variants of ‘Indian Rummy’, which is also termed as ‘Syndicate Rummy’.

In Pools rummy as the term defines, all the players pay a fixed entry fee that forms the prize pool before playing.

The winner aspirants have to score least in each game. Players will get eliminated if they reach 101or 201 points, and finally, the player who left at the end of the games is declared as the winner.

Briefly, the player who places a show will get 0 points and the remaining players get a score based on their unused cards left on the hand.

Splits:

Two types of split options are available to the players in this variant namely auto split and manual or optional split.

Basic Rules:

• A split happens only when two or three players are left on the table that started with more than three players
• It happens only in a 101or 201 pool game
• As long as ‘rejoin’ option considers, one should not provide a split option to the other active players on the table.

Auto Split

Two player Auto split

101 Pool Game:

• As mentioned in the name, the option works when only two players are left at the tables. At the start of the game, every player has a game count of 81 or higher.
• The prize amount would be automatically split equally between the two active players when the auto split is used.
• If the player A has a count of 71 and player B has a count of 91 then the prize equally splits between the A and B.

201 Pool Game:

• Same as in the 101 pool game, the option works when only two players are left at the tables. At the start of the game, every player has a game count of 176 or higher.
• The prize amount would be automatically split equally between the two active players when the auto split is used.
• If the player A has a count of 161 and player B has a count of 191 then the prize equally splits between the A and B.

Three player Auto split

101 Pool Game:

• The ‘auto split’ option works when only three players are left at the tables that started off with more than three players. At the start of the game, every player has a game count of 81 or higher.
• The prize amount would be automatically split equally between the two active players when the auto split is used.
• If the player A has a count of 71 and player B has a count of 91 and player C has a count of 99 then the prize will equally split among A, B, and C players.

201 Pool Game:

• The ‘auto split’ option works when only three players are left at the tables that started off with more than three players. At the start of the game, every player has a game count of 176 or higher.
• The prize amount would be automatically split equally between the two active players when the auto split is used.
• If the player A has a count of 71 and player B has a count of 91 and player C has a count of 99 then the prize will equally split among A, B, and C players.

Manual or Optional Split

Two player manual or optional split

• The option works when only two players are left at the table that starts with three or more number of players.
• On the mutual agreement between the last two left players on the optional split, the prize splits between them based on their number of drops available in the game and the balance amount will be instantaneously updated.

Three player manual or optional split

• The option works when only three players are left at the table that starts with three or more number of players.
• If all the three players admit for optional split then the prize amount will split among three of them as per their number of drops available in the game and the balance amount will be instantaneously updated.

 

How did the variant deal on MastRummy?

The most fascinated rummy variant pool rummy in MastRummy is played between two to six players normally with two or more decks.

After paying an entry fee, each player will be allotted with a seat at pool rummy table. Thirteen randomly distributed cards will be provided to the each player. The first card from the pack is incorporated in the open deck to mention that the game has started. On the other hand, rest of the cards is set faced down in the closed deck.

Printed Joker: Players can consider an Ace card of all suits as a Joker in their sequences or sets if a printed joker is chosen as joker itself for the game.

Auto Drop: Each and every player is allocated with the Drop option at any time throughout a Pool Rummy match merely by clicking on ‘Auto Drop’ button. Then the player will be dropped from rest of the deals and provided with the first drop score (i.e. 20 points in 101 pool or 25 points in 201 pool).

If the player chooses to re-join the table, then they can do so by choosing the suitable button available accordingly. The points get added to that specific player when he/she was dropped, will be added to his/her score. If the player clicks on auto drop after picking a card then he/she will be considered Middle Drop on his turn (points will be awarded as normal if another player declares show before his turn) and will be provided with middle drop score (i.e. 40 points in 101 pool or 50 points in 201 pool).

Elimination: In this variant, players are out of the game if once their score reaches the maximum limit of points on that certain table.

Prize Split: Winners can use the ‘Split option’ if they choose to split the prize amount. A number of drops will be treated as the number of times a player can drop a game and to still survive in the game.

Mandatory: To declare the game, one must ensure that their hand consists at least two sequences with one pure sequence in the both.

How are the scores assigned in Pool Rummy?

The player who quickly completes the game objective is declared as the winner and awarded with zero points. On the other side, the loser scores the points based on the value of their cards in their hand. Every card holds a certain number of points. For instance, face cards (Jack, King, Queen, and Ace) count 10 and the remaining cards bear the points as their face value like 8 gets eight points and 2 gets two points. Jokers are awarded zero points.

In the other case, if a player fails to reach the objective then he or she receives 80 points.

What are the optimum points a player receives?

In this variant, players considered as out of the game if once their scores reach the maximum limit of the points. That means a player will be out of the table if the score reads 101 points.

How are the winnings computed in pools rummy?

Winnings = (Entry Fee x Number of players) – MastRummy Fee

How will the drop option works?

Every can access the option to drop the game as long as the game continues. The drop scores vary depending upon the pool rummy variants.

Example: First drop counts 20 points in 101 pool rummy and 25 points in 201 pool rummy

Middle drop counts 40 points in 101 pool rummy and 50 points in 201 pool rummy

What is Rejoin?

If the highest score among the eliminated players is below or equivalent to 79 points and 179 points in 101 and 201 pools respectively are eligible to rejoin the table to play.

Is there any entry fee to pay to rejoin the game?

Yes. Players who are eligible and desired to rejoin the game as pay the entry fee again.

What is my initial score, if I rejoin the game?

Your initial score will be one point more than the highest score among the players who are not playing without any elimination.
